On 14 July, , the Irish Minister responsible for Defence, Helen McEntee, will present the security and defence priorities for the Irish Presidency to SEDE Members. The following day, Members will have the opportunity to discuss the security and defence challenges faced by Moldova with the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister, Mihai Popsoi.
Later that day, SEDE together with the DNAT Members will welcome Radmila Shekerinska, the NATO Deputy Secretary-General, to debrief on the outcome of the NATO Summit in Ankara.

On July 8, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with National Security Council Secretary-General of Oman Idris Abdulrahman Al Kindi.

In response to the claims made by Raymond Greene, director of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), that Taiwan needs a "hornet's nest" of drones to help deter conflict and provide security, and that Greene and Lin Chia-lung, head of Taiwan's so-called foreign affairs authorities, invited representatives from several of Taiwan's so-called "diplomatic allies" to reaffirm their "commitments" to the island, Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said on Wednesday that Greene's remarks contradicted US President Donald Trump's stated position, threatened cross-Straits stability, and could push China-US ties in a highly dangerous direction.

In response to Taiwan authorities' smear on the Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress, Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office said that Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities, driven by their inherent pursuit of "Taiwan independence" and political interests, are attempting to erase and distort Taiwan compatriots' identification with the Chinese nation. Their repeated baseless attacks and smears against the law are aimed at fabricating excuses for betraying the nation, splitting the country, undermining cross-Straits relations and restricting exchanges across the Taiwan Straits.

A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Wednesday criticized Taiwan authorities for distorting the mainland's efforts to boost cross-Strait ties and obstructing normal exchanges.

U.S. forces launched strikes against Iran on Tuesday after three commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz were attacked, the U.S. Central Command said.

Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said Tuesday unity and solidarity in NATO are Bulgaria's strongest security tool, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reported citing the Ministry of Defence. Stoyanov spoke at a working dinner of defence ministers during a meeting of NATO heads of State and government.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had targeted US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait in response to the latest US military strikes against Iran.
