Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2021/276 of 22 February 2021 amending Decision (CFSP) 2017/2074 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Venezuela.

The Council adopted the regulation establishing the InvestEU programme.

Member states approved a mandate to start negotiations with the European Parliament on the 8th Environment Action Programme that will serve as an overarching guide to European environmental policy until 2030.

EU member states' ambassadors endorsed the final compromise text of the regulation setting up the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument.

President Michel received the letters of credentials from three new ambassadors to the European Union.

The EU and Georgia issued a joint press release following their 6th Association council meeting.

The aim of the legislation is a swift removal of terrorist content online and to establish one common instrument for all member states to this effect.

The Council adopted its position at first reading on the LIFE programme for 2021-2027.

On 18 March, the Committees on Foreign Affairs and on Development will vote on the provisional agreement resulting from interinstitutional negotiations establishing the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument - Global Europe. With a proposed budget of €79.5 billion over the period 2021-2027, this instrument will radically overhaul the manner in which the financing of the European Union's external action is administered.
In an effort to streamline existing external financing instruments, the Global Europe Instrument merges ten existing regulations as well as the European Development Fund into one tool. This will make the financing of EU external action more coherent, transparent and flexible, and will allow the EU to effectively uphold and promote its values and interests worldwide.
