EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Development meet in Brussels on 19 May 2017 to address the humanitarian situation in Africa, Yemen and Syria. They are also discussing the future of EU-ACP relations and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development.
EU Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs meet on 18 May 2017 in Brussels to take stock of work on the effective application of the principles of responsibility and solidarity. They are also expected to adopt conclusions on setting the EU's priorities for the fight against serious and organised crime between 2018 and 2021.
EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence meet in Brussels on 18 May 2017 to take stock of the implementation of the EU Global Strategy in the area of security and defence and adopt conclusions in this regard. They are expected to discuss the progress achieved in the implementation of initiatives agreed in the Council conclusions of 6 March 2017. The Council is also discussing EU-NATO cooperation. Over lunch, defence ministers are discussing counter-terrorism together with interior ministers. The meeting is preceded by the European Defence Agency (EDA) steering board.
