Dansk Supermarked was established in 1964 following a partnership agreement between Herman Salling and A.P. Møller and since then, Dansk Supermarked Group has grown to be Denmark's largest retail group.

The first floating offshore wind (FOW) turbine built in France was launched at Saint-Nazaire on 13 October just 15 months after construction began. The project, beginning with the turbine, tower and floating foundation, are being funded by the European Commission. This coming winter, the demonstrator will be towed to the SEM-REV test site off Le Croisic between Nantes and Lorient in Brittany. There, it will then be connected to the French power grid for a two-year test period to validate the design concept and technologies and measure performance under real-world conditions.
Channel 5 is a new service currently being piloted at Seayard’s container terminal in Fos-sur-Mer on France’s Mediterranean coast. It was developed by MGI, a Marseille-based company specialised in Cargo Community Systems (CCSs) and Port Community Systems (PCSs) for port, airport and inland logistics communities. Channel 5 updates users on gate traffic and expected import/export cargo volumes to provide an accurate real-time overview of port system status.

Airbus ro-ro parts carrier Ciudad de Cadiz, operated by Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, is testing a kite traction system developed by Toulouse-based startup Airseas.
The company was set up in September by Vincent Bernatets, who spent much of a fifteen-year stint with Airbus launching innovative products. His team includes aeronautical engineers specialising in aerodynamics, flight control laws, modelling, composite materials and systems architecture.
French boatbuilder Sibiril Technologies, based at Carantec in Brittany, has announced plans to build combined shellfish dredgers and pot fishing boats of a type known in France as coquillers-caseyeurs. The announcement follows an order placed in April this year by fishing company Eddy Blanchet for two boats for delivery in the first half of 2018. The deck gear, most of which is made of composite materials and produced by vacuum infusion, is approaching completion.
