Debate: Should the NPD have been banned?

The party is too weak to represent a threat to Germany's democratic order, the court found. Some journalists agree with the decision while others remain unconvinced.

A good two weeks after the attack on Istanbul's Reina nightclub the Turkish police have arrested the presumed killer. The man, believed to be an IS fighter from Uzbekistan, was arrested in the flat of a friend in Istanbul. The Turkish press is both relieved and concerned.

The two-state solution - up to now the international community's common denominator - was apparently called into question but in the end was reaffirmed in the final communique. The international community must support the Palestinians' bid to have their own state, commentators from the Palestinian territories demand.

The Carlyle Group, fonds d'investissement fort de 169 milliards de dollars d'actifs sous gestion à travers le monde, rachète la moitié du capital de Global Credit Ratings (GCR), l'agence de notation panafricaine basée en Afrique du Sud. C'est la deuxième incursion du colosse américain dans le secteur des services financiers en Afrique, après un investissement en 2014 au capital de la banque nigériane Diamond Bank.

Parlement européen : le conservateur Antonio Tajani succède à Martin Schulz

Agé de 63 ans, cet ancien commissaire européen proche de Silvio Berlusconi connaît comme sa poche les arcanes du Parlement. Critiqué pour son silence dans l’affaire sur le Dieselgate lorsqu’il était commissaire à l’Industrie, le successeur de Martin Schulz devra trouver sa place au sein d'un hémicycle divisé. Depuis 1977 et l’élection d’Emilio Colombo, aucun Italien n’avait occupé ce poste.
